Day 1 BOSPHORUS CRUISE WITH TWO CONTINENTS BOSPHORUS CRUISE WITH TWO CONTINENTS
Enjoy a full day tour of the Bosphorus district, the most beautiful part of the city. Firstly we visit the colourful 17thCentury Spice Bazaar where you can smell and taste various kinds of herbs and delights. Then, we embark on the Bosphorus ferry for a breathtaking cruise along the worlds most strategic strait that connects Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, via Marmara Sea and the Dardanelles. Along the shore we view Ciragan Palace which nowadays is Hotel Kempinsky, Dolmabahce Palace, two of the suspension Bosphorus bridges that connects Europe to Asia, the unique 15thCentury Rumeli Fortress, the Kuleli Military Academy building where Florance Nightingale once worked and some of worlds priciest mansions that we call Yalis. After lunch at a local restaurant, we drive across the first Bosphorus Bridge which connects Europe to Asia and head for the summit of Camlica Hill, which affords an amazing panoramic view of Istanbul. From here a short drive brings us to the beautiful Palace of Beylerbeyi. Located on the shore of the Bosphorus, this was the summer residence of the Imperial Ottoman Empire in the 19th Century. With its splendor Ottoman Baroque exterior in a magnolia tree garden and interior decorations, it is a reminder of the formidable Ottoman Empire.
On the Asian side of the Istanbul Bogazi, this palace was built of white marble by Sultan Abdulaziz in the 19th century. It possesses a beautiful garden with magnolia trees and was used as a summer residence of the sultans and as a guest house for visiting foreign dignitaries. (Open every day except Monday and Thursday.)
* Beylerbeyi Palace is closed on Mondays/Thursdays and will be replaced with the Chora Church Museum.
